as someone who's had panic attacks my whole life regarding the concept of eternity, the narrator slowly losing it broke my heart, I don't think I could play this ending - pushing the skip button knowing it would just leave him to go insane in isolation would be too gut wrenching even tho it's literally just a videogame :(

I never wanted to give the Narrator a hug so badly. I've read a ridicilously long webcomic (9000 pages, and it still isn't over yet) which explores the feelings of sentient AI's trapped in a game in a similar way, created to help the player, but doomed to rot away in the game, like the Narrator. One of them even goes insane in a similar way after being trapped in the tutorial for thousands of years.

The scariest thin is that while everything happend you just stood there. Anything could have happend around you or with you. A whole Civiliezation could have found you made you their frozen god Evolutionies it selve found out how to destroy itselfe did it,the screams could have been an Alien race or the Mutation causes of Nuclear Armagedon,maybe idk somthing simple as Spiders crawling over you but you didnt notice ANYTHING. Btw it is a clever ending cause after you get out you are now in the Same hell as the narrator alone and no one to speak to.(until you die of Dehydration but unless the Skip button deactivated every need while you froze you just stood there for a billion years not needing anything)

How this part of the game plays on human emotions, and our desire to skip time, is truly brilliant, and to make us feel as though, we wish to skip time because of how long we've been sitting through a dialogue, or wanting to get away from something or somewhere. It's fascinating to just wonder, how we can sustain an amount of time listening to someone speak and ramble on, and then wanting to skip time because we feel a sense of rush, to just get on with the conversation or because we, perhaps, catch anxiety and wish we can just get to the point... Then there's regret and loneliness, and then not hearing from that person or seeing something repetitively or doing something constantly for a certain amount of time and then wishing we can go back in time to do it again and see and hear them again. It's wild how it plays on these emotions and our wonders to look around, drawing us back in, and then pushing us away, and then making us feel the need to.. skip past it.
